9th Grade
What should students do in 9th grade?Read More
Students need to adjust to the rigor of high school: an increased amount of nightly homework and more frequent and longer assessments. Establishing excellent study skills during this time will serve students throughout high school. If a student is struggling, he or she should reach out to the support structure in the Maumee Valley community for help.

10th Grade
What should students do in 10th grade?Read More
Students need to focus on academic engagement: participation in class, academic exploration outside of class, articulating personal interests, and researching how to pursue them further. Tenth graders should look carefully at Maumee Valley’s Intensives as a useful avenue for satisfying academic requirements in a creative manner and pursuing personal interests outside of school.

11th Grade
What should students do in 11th grade?Read More
Students need to take a challenging course load that speaks to their interests. They should utilize the Intensives thoughtfully, setting up internships or independent studies that will allow them to do hands-on work with mentors who will take an active interest in their progress. Students should make notable contributions to extracurricular activities.

What should students do in the 12th grade?Read More
Students should complete their final college list by early August, confirming their application for non-binding Early Action (EA) or binding Early Decision (ED). The Common Application is available online Aug. 1 and seniors should start working through the application.
